Ghosts in the Machine: we, the people, held captive by our own machinations

I ask you to please consider:

We often choose to ignore just how fragile life's balance truly is and that we are dependent upon one another in ways the we simply do not comprehend. The tempo of our day to day grind has increased, fostering a decision making process that borders on the contrite and quite often ill advised.

It's a struggle to stand in place in these trying times, so we seek advice, council and understanding from those we perceive to be lending a helping hand. That which may sound true, reasonable and even rational may not be anything more than an excuse masquerading as reason.

Is common sense in short supply at present, are perception and reasoning; correct judgment and understanding all that common?

Character and values guide us all to make the very decisions that shape our lives. The principle of consumption has led people to believe that the pursuit of more results in a greater good. But is this founded in sound principle? I would suggest it is not and that it requires character to step back and observe what others may regard as reason. A forward looking view requires the courage to lift one's head out from the din of platitudes and question precisely where the quest for more is leading us.

We are staring down a mountain of debt from this very quest, overshadowing our very prosperity. Debt that cannot be serviced will cause immense difficulty in one form or another. It has simply grown too large and throughout history's pages... this has never ended well. Quite frequently it has ended in unmitigated disaster.

Yet it cannot slow for fear of its very collapse. We are trapped and the very confinement appears extremely complex, but in reality it is quite simple. It is time to reconsider and re-examine our conventions. How do I come to this? Simple really, you, the reader, and my fellow Americans tell me it is just so.

You recognize the fundamental flaws in practice. You see your purchasing power eroded in the light of day, regardless of what the government's quantitative metrics suggest. You see first hand the difficulty in labor markets and the resultant affect on incomes. You hear the illogic of policies and confront them with abandon. You question the assumptions and circumstance.

This undercurrent is powerful and it recognizes we are ripe for reform, and that abundance in great supply has only provided more dislocations and pain.

These ideas are no longer fragments of your imaginations, but spreading far and wide across this great nation. We have an obligation to one another and you have the considerable confidence to set things right and triumph. "Hope" may or may not be for fools, but in the end "faith" in your knowledge provides the very power we will need to overcome what lay ahead.

My very best to those of you who have expressed your concerns. They are insightful and warranted. Clear thinking and confidence are the very hallmarks of our future. Things are not as they appear and honest money will, once again, have its rightful place amongst us all.

The very decisions we make today will affect our futures. Chose yours wisely and please protect yourself from financial uncertainty. Precious metals are an excellent choice. Take delivery and hold onto them with all the courage and strength you can muster. They will persevere regardless of their price action today. Their value is timeless.
