Profiting from Bungles in the Global Jungle

We note many anomalies, so much so that we identify these as a new investment theme -- seeking profitable opportunities from "global bungles in the jungle." Two main and related factors now shape financial and economic behaviour -- ultra low interest rate levels (actually, negative interest rates in real terms) and super-defensive investor behaviour. In other words, the demand for money is extremely high. This causes numerous deformations in the financial and economic landscape. Yet, properly gauged and understood in terms of the secular drivers that underly economic dynamics, these can inform investment policy.
