Indiana Awards 57 Delegates Before Primary Vote, Only 1 to Trump; Satan vs. Trump

Donald Trump complained about bid-rigging in Colorado and other states in his April 14 Let Le Ask America a Question Op-Ed submission to the Wall Street Journal.

Trump's question/comment is "How has the 'system' been working out for you and your family? No wonder voters demand change."

While I tend to agree with the overall theme of his op-ed, the fact remain it was his mostly his poor organization that took him down in Colorado. Cruz hypocritically took advantage.

Indiana is arguably a different kettle of fish. The Indiana GOP just named all its delegates even though voting is not until May 3.

Only one of those delegates is for Trump.

Indiana GOP Stacks Deck Against Donald Trump

On her show yesterday, Rachel Maddow commented Indiana GOP Stacks Deck Against Donald Trump Before Primary Vote.

Click on the above link to see a video of Niki Kelly, reporter for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, and Rachel Maddow discuss how the Indiana Republican Party named its delegates before there has even been a primary vote.

So far only one of 57 appears to be a Trump supporter regardless of who wins the primary.

Impossible for Trump to Win Indiana?

Maddow: "Even though the sate of Indiana has not yet voted, and there is no polling, I can confidently hereby tonight, proclaim, and this is not even a prediction, I can tell whatever happens with the Republican vote in Indiana on May 3, I can hereby tell you Donald Trump will lose Indiana."

That may be one of the longest sentences in talk-show history. I actually edited out parts of it.

Maddow went on to say "He will lose it, at least, in the only way that really counts. And the reason I can tell you that is 57 actual human-flesh delegates ....."

Satan vs. Trump

Trump is slightly more preferable than Satan to at least one Indiana GOP delegate.

Trump Can Win Indiana

Despite that amusing rant by Maddow, Trump can indeed win Indiana. He also needs to win Indiana.

Indiana delegates are bound to Trump in the first round. No one figures Trump can win if it takes more than one round.

Maddow assumes Trump cannot win in the first round. That's a mistake as I have noted on several occasions.

That said, the vote is indeed stacked against Trump. But right now, it's still within Trump's power to win outright.

To do that, he must win Indiana. And I still project Trump will win Indiana, and will offer reasons in another post.

For now, I stick with my prior analysis.
