Global Spin - January 2011: Off Beam Forecasts

Equity markets again seem to have scaled "the wall of worry." As such, the massive stock market advance since September of 2010 has caught many offside. A near-panic of left-behind investors has ensued, as stock markets reach the best levels in 27 months. We can't remember a period where swings in sentiment have been so uniform, capricious, rapid and extreme. Not to be underestimated is that the "zeitgeist" is having its influence.
