McDonald's CEO on Minimum Wage and Expansion

McDonald's CEO Don Thompson, sat down with Bloomberg Television's Betty Liu this afternoon at Bloomberg's The Year Ahead: 2014 in Chicago and said:

"We're not a minimum wage employer today" and the opportunities we provide at McDonalds are much greater than many other places so, minimum wage is not a challenge
McDonalds pays more than minimum wage to store workers
Higher U.S minimum wage may increase inflation

On McDonald's expansion, Thompson said:

McDonald's is not close to having too many locations globally
There is room for new stores in McDonald's biggest markets, including the U.S. and France
The company is planning to open 1,500 locations worldwide this year and 1,600 in 2014
